Painting contains water from the Grand Canyon
this piece was painted in april of 2003 one evening in the slot canyon known as blacktail at mile 120 on the colorado river in grand canyon…… the view is facing north looking at the waterfalls which directly go underground. this canyon is carved through the tapeats sandstone and has a reputation as a particular spiritual place to the native americans. todays folklore even holds this side canyon as haunted.
