Painted in July 2007 late afternoon, this piece holds the green waters of the Main Salmon captured at Groundhog Bar. Groundhog is located at mile 43 on the Main located in the heart of the 2.3 million acre Frank Church Wilderness. This was painted during the fire storm of the South Fork where over 5,000 acres were burning. Groundhog is a beautiful beach that is home to the oldest cabin along the Main Salmon. Groundhog bar is also home to Whiplash, one of the largest rapids on the river at flood stage flows. The view is facing west looking downstream through the silhouetted ridges of fire season. WARREN CREEK RIDGE

This piece was painted in the rain under a small rock outcropping. Painted in June of 2006, the site of this piece is along the Romine ranch trail that sits above the river at mile 107 on the Main Salmon in central Idaho. The view is facing west looking at the upcoming miles of a river yet to be travelled. Warren creek flows from the infamous mining town just north of McCall, Idaho. JAMES RANCH SAND CASTLES

This piece was painted in August of 2004 from the beach at the James Ranch at mile 109 on the Main Salmon river in central Idaho. The view is facing back east looking upstream at the Main. The James Ranch is an original homestead in the wilderness and lost its airstrip in the high water runoff of 1995. This painting contains the water of the Main Salmon. Original framed watercolor.
BELOW BARTH

Painted late August 2005 from the small beach below Barth hotsprings, also known as Sandy Hole. This site is located at mile 70 on the Main Salmon river in central Idaho. The view is facing upstream looking through the filtered light of Idaho’s fire season. This particular pool is known as one of the deepest in the upper sections of the Main and is notorious for the size and amounts of sturgeon found here. Created with the water of the Main Salmon. SHEEP CREEK

Painted in August 2008 late afternoon, this piece holds the waters of the Sheep Creek captured along the Main Salmon. Sheep Creek is located at mile 119 on the Main located in the heart of the 2.3 million acre Frank Church Wilderness. This was painted during an afternoon respite along the banks of the creek. Sheep Creek is a beautiful beach and is home to one of the prettiest tributaries along the Main Salmon. The view is facing north looking up Sheep Creek towards the Gospel Hump wilderness. This painting contains the waters of Sheep Creek. Original unframed watercolor.
