this piece was painted in june 2005 from the deck of a sweep boat at mile 84 on the middle fork of the salmon river in central idaho. the view is facing east looking at the mouth of ship island creek across the middlefork. ship island is a tributary starting in the bighorn crags flowing down through one of the tightest and steepest side canyons in the impassable canyon.
